TOFFEE BARS |

1 C Margerine 1 C Dark Brown Sugar 1 t Vanilla 1/4 t Salt 1 egg 2 C flour |
Cream sugar and shortning together, then add vanailla and eggs. Sift flour and salt together. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix with electric mixer. Press the dough evenly into a 9x13 pan and bake at at 350° for 20-25 minutes until until a toothpick inserted inthe middle comes out clean. |
ORIGINAL TOPPING |

1 10oz. bag of chocolate chips 4 oz Chopped walnuts |
Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the dough and return to the oven for a few minutes to melt the chocolate chips. Using a spatula, spread the chocolate chips to make a smooth coating over the toffee, then sprinkle the chocolate with the walnuts. |
SOFT TOPPING |

1 10oz. bag of chocolate chips 4 oz Chopped walnuts 4T Margerine 1/4C Sour Cream |
Melt the margerine and sour cream, then add the chocolate chips. When the chips are completely melted, stir in the walnuts and spread over the baked dough. |
